A Buzz With Weather

Weather · April 4, 2008

By now everyone is aware of the tornado(s) that hit Benton and Bryant last night. Everything in my neighborhood was fine, but about 5 miles away, things got ugly.

This is a car dealership up from my house on I-30. I drove by it this morning and every light pole they had up is now on the ground. Most cars facing the street that I could see had the drivers side windows blown out of them, and their huge billboard above the lot was gone. I guess it blew away.

I’ve done a map to give you a better idea of where the damage was. The dealership is point A, my house is point B. The Hurricane Lake area also got hit. It’s probably a mile North of this dealership. Scary stuff. I wanted so badly to go to bed early last night, but instead stayed up watching the news and wondering when I was going to need to get in the closet.
