Saturday night I went to Alice 107.7’s Not So Silent Night concert which showcased 6 bands:
- JT Experience
The Last Goodnight
I think The Last Goodnight didn’t show up. I sure don’t remember hearing them.
Anyhow, because it’s mid-December, I think all of these guys said it was their last show of the year. Therefore, they had an “I couldn’t care less about how I play today” attitude. They also didn’t bother bringing all of the band members. Except for Quite Drive there was only the lead singer and an acoustic guitar. Some people brought 1 other guitarist. The sets were short (about 20-30 minutes). For 15 dollars, I really didn’t mind at all.
JT Ex took all his clothes off and threw them into the crowd at the end of his set. He walked off stage with only his boxers on. Quiet Drive puts on a good show. The music is pretty good, but before seeing them live, they probably would have been just another band to me. Plus, the lead singer has the typical “emo” haircut, so…
Mat Kearney was really good. Sounds live exactly like he does recorded right down to some of the raspy parts in various songs.
Matt White was boring, but extremely good looking. Saving Jane was numbingly boring. She’s (lead singer, Marty) pretty old to be singing about high school and cheerleading and, like, stuff…I say leave the high school themed songs to the teeny boppers.
