Superbad

Movies · August 9, 2007

So, a buddy of mine got some free passes to see a sneak peek of the new flick Superbad last night. I didn’t know if I wanted to see it or not because I was afraid it’d be just as not cool as American Pie or some other stupid high school movie, but I was sorely mistaken. This movie is hilarious right from the get go. People were laughing so hard around me that I couldn’t hear the next lines after most of the funny jokes. Being that Seth Rogan wrote the movie while he was still in high school, I think it’s pretty funny that this movie is far better than the recent summer hit he didn’t write but acted in, Knocked Up.

Don’t take my word for it though, go see it. You’ll enjoy it. Unless you’re a prude that doesn’t enjoy dirty language, sex, drugs, and alcohol on the big screen.

Afterwards, me and 4 friends (all males) went out for a few drinks. The conversation ended up on how guys treat blond girls differently than brunettes. They all agreed that generally blonds are sweet, soft natured, semi-ditsy girls that can pretty much be told what to do without complaint. They also said blonds are generally not as good in bed as brunettes because they don’t have to be. They said blonds have a way of acting that makes them seem like they need to be taken care of. Thus, lots of things are just sort of handed to them. Brunettes, on the other hand, they said are straight forward, independent, won’t take any crap from anyone kinds of girls. They don’t give the impression of being “weak” so they have to work harder for certain things. A statistic was thrown out that 70% of men prefer brunettes. Which, if their generalizing statements are true, apparently men liked to be bossed around and base their decisions largely on how good the sex might be.

They also said the hair color generalizations DO NOT hold true for men. According to these guys, height is the male equivalent to female hair color.

I don’t agree or disagree with any of these statements. My opinion is that male vs. female thinking and the differences between the two is fascinating.
