*update* It was insane how close we got. I was literally leaning against the stage close enough to see that Sam (and several others) weren’t wearing shoes. I also got to talk to Nate for a bit before the show! *end update*
I’m heading to Memphis tomorrow night to see these guys. Anyone that knows me, knows that I’m a huge fan (thanks John!) and this will be my 4th time to see them live. Once, last year, I saw them in Memphis on a Saturday night and drove back to Little Rock to watch them again on Sunday night. The LR venue (The Village Live) was much smaller and more intimate. And, as a matter of fact, when the lead singer, Nate, got off the stage I was even able to talk to him for a bit.
My want for some sort of change has yet to subside. In thinking about what I might do, should something miraculous happen, I’ve come up with a few ideas.
- I could finally get a passport and backpack somewhere in Europe for a while.
- I could go back to school, however, for what…I’m not sure.
- I could write a book.
I could sell my house and attempt to live only within my means. No loans, no credit cards.- I could become a triathlete
- I could go to the beach for a while.
- I could try dating women (it’s a joke, everyone)
Who knows what breaks a rut. Whatever it is, I’m tired of talking/thinking/writing about it. And so, until I figure it out, I’m officially done with it.
On a side note…there are a few things, if I were the creator of all things, that I might have done just a bit differently when creating the human body. For instance, when creating the digestive system, I would not have made the stomach expandable, that way we would only eat when it were empty and only eat what was necessary. I also would not allowed the body to “store” food, thus, not allowing the body to have excess fat. Instead, we would only use what we had in our stomachs and be forced to eat when there was not enough food to give us the energy we needed. This thought might make some angry. Here comes the disclaimer. Believe me when I say, I understand those that say the body is made in His image and is perfect. These rambling thoughts are just that and are not meant to defy, question or otherwise test anyone’s beliefs in any way.
